Pyro Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026
Pyro is a Mac app made by The Useful Company ("we"). This policy explains what Pyro does with your information. The short version: Pyro does not collect, store or send any of your data.
What Pyro does not do
- Pyro does not connect to the internet. It has no network access of its own.
- Pyro has no accounts, sign-ins, analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting.
- We never see the files you burn, the names of your discs or tracks, or how you use the app.
What stays on your Mac
- Files you add. Pyro reads only the files and folders you drop on it or choose in an Open panel, and only to write them to a disc. macOS enforces this: Pyro runs in the App Sandbox and can't read anything else on your Mac.
- Settings. Your choices in Settings (verify after burning, eject when finished, gap between audio tracks) are saved on your Mac in Pyro's own preferences file.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, macOS shows them locally when a burn or erase finishes. Nothing is sent to us.
Links that leave the app
The Help menu can open our website in your browser, or start an email to our support address in your mail app. What happens then is covered by your browser or mail provider and, if you write to us, by the "Contacting us" section below.
Contacting us
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and to help with your problem. We don't add you to mailing lists or share your message with anyone. You can ask us to delete our correspondence with you at any time.
Children
Pyro collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If Pyro ever starts handling data differently, we will update this page and the App Store privacy details before that version is released.
